*CHILDHOOD*
In 1572, when Galileo was eight years old, his family moved to Florence, However, Galileo remained in Pisa and lived for two years with a friend of his mother's. When he was ten, Galileo left Pisa to go back home with his family in Florence and there he was tutored. Once he was old enough to be taught in a monastery, his parents sent him to a monastery at Vallombrosa. Galileo then decided he wanted to be a monk, so his father had him return. In 1581 Vincenzo sent Galileo back to Pisa to live again and to go to school for a medical degree at the University of Pisa. He attended other course such as mathematics and natural philosophy. By 1585, he gave up this course of being a medical students and left without completing and getting his degree.
*INFLUENCES*
Copernicus influenced Galileo with his theories on the model of the solar system. Galileo was one of the first people to say that the earth revolved around sun, not the sun around the earth which was the belief at that time. Also Archimedes principles of statics influenced him which he continued on for his discussion of moving bodies
